From My Write Side to Written

Hello, is it me you’re looking for?
I’m still the same person, writing the same stuff as I was before. You’re probably wondering how this place went from being my personal blog to this fun new network, aren’t you?
Are you afraid you’ll miss my stories or that I won’t share them with you anymore?
Don’t be. I may only post Written once a week, but I will be participating in the writing prompts, hanging out on our new community forum, and still being the storyteller you’ve come to love.
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t.
As you know, I moved over to Eat Sleep Write for a while. This was a wonderful experience that brought many new and fantastic writers into my life. Wendy Strain, our social media and marketing manager. is one of them. Eric Keizer, the lovable old professor with his Teacher Tales that debuts tomorrow, is another. I have been very blessed to meet and strengthen my writing circle.
I did not do it alone though. A.L. Mabry is my partner in crime. She has been my writing partner for almost 5 years now. Our growth ,as we discovered how very similar we are, has been nothing short of amazing. She has always given me gentle pushes in the direction I needed to go, even if I didn’t know it was where I needed to be. It was because of her that I became a part of Eat Sleep Write.
Our experience there filled us with great knowledge. It opened our eyes to the writing community. It helped us understand what was missing and what writers really need and want. When we realized that our dreams went in a different direction than Eat Sleep Write, we decided to use my blog to help make this dream a reality.
And here we are today. I have always doubted my writing, and you all have always amazed me with your likes, your willingness to return every day to let me know you still like me. That is the number one reason we chose to upgrade My Write Side, because of all of you. We want to give back to you what you’ve done for us just by being here. We want to give you a community that challenges you, inspires you, frustrates you (in a good way), and at the end of it all, you’ll look back and see all the new friends you gained, all the support you’ve had, and realize how far your writing has come because of it, just as you all have done for us.
I don’t say this lightly. I’ve never been one to toot my own horn. I had a hard time writing my bio! I had a hard time accepting a title I didn’t feel I deserved (Managing Editor at Eat Sleep Write), but here I am, able to stand a little taller simply because of you. My readers, my followers, my supporters. I’m so very glad you’re here. You deserve a standing ovation.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Now please, let me do you a solid, and take a moment to visit this post. Most of you already follow me anyway, why not get some free books and prizes out of it?
Are you as excited about the new community as I am?
