TMT: Open Realities
I’m late, I know, but I’ve been at Camp (NaNo to be precise) working on both my novel-in-progress and my short story for submission to the 3rd anthology of Write on Edge’s Precipice AND life has been hurling one tornado after another my way. My husband surprised me with a trip to Atlantic City for our 5th anniversary.
So many distractions, so little time!
Anyway, this week’s mixed tape is free choice. I’m very sad that this month is the last month to make Twisted Mixtapes, so I want to make every post count. I have at least 400 songs on my phone, which I plug into my car stereo with an aux cable. I tell you this for the sole reason that if the song isn’t on my playlist, it’s not going on this post this week. I decided on a “theme” of sorts, though I have no explanation for why, other than the it seems fun and I’m amazed how many songs with the word “open” I have on my playlist.
I decided to share the 5 songs I will never skip over no matter what mood I’m in. You know, because I’m open like that. I’ll let the songs speak for themselves.
Take my hand, knot your fingers through mine
And we’ll walk from this dark room for the last time
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it by the hand
It’s so safe…
It’s so safe floating in the glass
While above all your troubles pass
Don’t try to run I can keep up with you
Nothing can stop me from trying, you’ve got to
How could our love be so blind
We sailed on together
We drifted apart
Here’s a recently discovered new favorite as a bonus track:
she could have been a poet
or, she could have been a fool
And there you have it, another Twisted Mixtape. Think you’d like to play along? Visit My Skewed View and link yours up!
