The Glass Thief by John Ryers
A DEBT IS OWED. Del Kanadis–indentured thief to the King of Fires–desires freedom above all else. When given the opportunity to repay his debt with a single job, he begrudgingly accepts, believing it to be a fool’s errand. His task: infiltrate a secluded village rumoured to hold a relic capable of defeating the Fire King’s enemies. Living amongst the townsfolk and gaining the trust of those in charge, Del quickly discovers they know more than they’re letting on, and that perhaps the relic truly does exist. Upon discovering their ultimate secret, he realizes winning his own life back could come at the cost of everyone else losing theirs.

Del Kanadis (what a great name!) owes a debt to the Fire King.
I’m a new fan. From the first line to the last page, I loved every aspect of this book. Ryers keeps the pace moving and his way with words allowed me to get completely immersed in the story and forget where I was. This is one of the fastest reads I’ve done of late, mainly because I couldn’t put it down. Not one word is wasted in this story. The story is so well done, I found myself wanting to be a part of the story, a character experiencing everything as it unfolded, a fly on Del Kanadis’ shoulder.
A unique reading experience by far, an original story unlike any others. A hodge podge of new characters reveals the highly active imagination and creativity of the author. I really appreciated that Ryers took the time to make book 1 a complete story rather than leaving me hanging to wait for the next book. My favorite part of this book, besides the characters, is the surprises around every corner. Nothing is as it seems. Ryers knows how to command attention and hook you from the very beginning. I impatiently await the next book in this dark fantasy series, despite my fear of zombies. I must know what happens next.
I highly recommend this book to dark fantasy lovers hungering for something different.A unique reading experience by far. The Glass Thief by @johnryers 5 stars! #amreading #mustreadbook Click To Tweet
