2018 OWS Ink Fiction Anthology
What’s YOUR Cinderella Story?
Glass & Ashes
Disney’s Cinderella, Ella Enchanted, Ever After… all Cinderella stories that are the same, yet very different. They all tell the golden tale of a cellar maid marrying into royalty. But what if…
the story changed?
Cinderella created her own destiny?
Someone stole it from her?
Anything else happened but what folklore says it did?
In 2018, we want to celebrate these alternative stories by creating our own versions of Cinderella. Accept the challenge and write your own Cinderella story. Dive deep into the darkest corners of your imagination and weave a tale from 3,500 words to 10,000 words. Offer us a story that would make the Grimm Bros and Hans Christian Anderson want to read it.
Follow our standard submission guidelines here and send it to us via email*** by March 15, 2018.
One submission per author only. Make sure you send your best work the first time as all other submissions will be deleted.
Your submission email should include Inquiry/Glass/Story title on the subject line. The body of the email should include a short one paragraph synopsis of the story or blurb along with the word count, your third person bio, and a headshot should be attached along with the manuscript. NO Manuscripts in the body of the email.
All entries not following the standard formatting and submission guidelines will be deleted without being read. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer feedback on rejected stories at this time.
Selected authors will receive a gratis print copy and a portion of royalties to be determined after deadline.
***We only accept digital submissions.
2018 OWS Ink Poetry Anthology
Life and death, wind and rain, water and fire… life is full of elementals. Our 2018 Poetry Anthology focuses on exactly 5 of them… earth, wind, fire, water, and spirit.
Your challenge is to write 4-5 poems, one for each element (spirit is optional), and send them together as one submission. This means 4 to 5 individual poems. There is no length guideline but longer poems that tell stories are preferred.
You MUST include all 4 elementals to qualify or your submission will be rejected. All poetry should be set to the left of the page, title underlined, and poet’s name beneath the title. Please follow the cover sheet and page numbering instructions on the submissions page here.
One poem per elemental per poet accepted only. We reserve the right to choose one or all of your poems. Submit to firstname.lastname@example.org with Inquiry/Poetry/Last Name in the subject line. All emails should have manuscripts and headshots attached. The body of the email should offer a short synopsis of the poems and your third person bio. All submissions should be sent in via email by February 15, 2018 for consideration. We do not accept late submissions.
*Digital submissions accepted only.
