Smooth Operator

I strut to the bar cool and bubbly. Feeling frothy and confident, I sit down next to a lovely lady  in a sheer dress with curves in all the right places.

“Why, hello there,” I say, putting on my best smile. “I’m Bud Wieser.”

“Hi,” she purrs, her eyelashes fluttering swiftly. “I’m Bacardi.”

I’m in love. “Wanna dance?” I ask.

Before she can answer, I disappear down the hatch in three quick breaths. My heart is crushed until I see Bacardi’s smooth body sliding down behind me.

“Let’s dance,” she says, swirling around me in a tight embrace.

So, the always amazing Troy convinced me to join in the Trifecta 99 celebration. We got to pick any word from the 99th page of the Oxford dictionary, and we could only use 99 words to tell the story. Here’s my 99.”

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my short short here. I always welcome and appreciate honest feedback. Feel free to share your thoughts in a comment.

Thanks for stopping in!

Nice. Can be a volatile pairing, those two. Interesting that we chose the same word.
