The advancement of my skills is very evident in this cover I did for Joanie Chevalier. I had the pleasure of creating the original cover for this book back in 2012. It was long before I knew anything about marketing for books, which includes how to formulate what text should be on the cover.
When Joanie came back in 2015 and asked me to redesign it, I was over the top happy. We did a series of exercises to work through who her target market was, what they were after if they needed this book, and what we needed to adjust to get them to buy her book.
There were many different things that changed about her cover, and the overall look of the new one really pops off the page and says exactly what her audience needs to see. It is my best before and after book.
