Master Class 2014 Vol. 1

Master Class 2014 Vol. 1
January 15, 2014 7 Comments Master Class, Writing Stephanie Ayers

Storch-BadgeNow that the Great Thaw has begun and the kids are back in school, my “new year” can begin. What better way to start than with a new Master Class assignment? Last year we had so much fun with the assignments, I sincerely hope that the same will happen this year, and it will grow.

What’s the Master Class you ask? Every week a writing prompt is given. You are challenged to write a non-genre specific, no word count necessary piece following the specific instructions for the prompt any given week. You link up with the url to the POST (not your blog). It’s that simple. Want to participate but don’t have a blog? That’s fine too. Just use the Contact Me tab at the top of the page, insert your words in the comment section and hit send. I will share your work on my blog, with all credit going back to you.

So, now that I have your attention, and the rules are clear, let’s begin. Last year’s assignments included lines from great works like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Handmaid’s Tale, and stories by authors such as Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. All of the assignments have been a challenge. This week’s assignment, should you choose to participate, is:

Your stories should begin with that line. You may begin linking up immediately and the link up will close Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 9:00 pm EST.
