Master Class 2014: Summer School Session 1

Master Class 2014: Summer School Session 1
July 1, 2014 13 Comments Master Class, Writing Stephanie Ayers

Storch-BadgeYes, the professor has been very negligent about the Master Class of late. Summers are always hard in this house but now that I’ve taken on the care of my nephew, it’s become a little harder.

It seems to be hard for my students too. The last class only had 2 participants. You can read their stories here and here.

This is why I have decided to add a new spin to our Master Class. It’s summer, which means more time outdoors, more activities, and less time to write. So, what if you had the ENTIRE MONTH to put a piece together? An ENTIRE MONTH! And you could write as many as 4 different stories as the prompt persuades you, too, and link one up every week…

But wait!

There’s more! In addition to a monthly prompt, I’m going to offer you a single word or phrase that will rotate weekly, as well as a biweekly prompt. You can pick your poison. We will test this out this month by starting with this assignment…

Here is your monthly prompt chosen by A.L. Mabry: Master-Class-chalkboard-Summer-2014-July You have freedom to use this line anywhere it fits within your story. This monthly assignment is due by Friday, July 25, 2014 at 9:00 PM EST. The last week of July we will vote on the best work and that person will have the honor of choosing the prompt for August. This link up is here:

For our biweekly prompt, I have chosen this line: Master-Class-chalkboard-summer-2014 You may use this line anywhere within your piece or write something inspired by this quote. This assignment is due by Friday, July 11, 2014 at 9:00 pm EST. The linkup for the biweekly challenge is here:

And for your final challenge, your shiny new weekly challenge, in the form of a single word, chosen by Tara, is:

HOOLIGAN

You have 320 words. You can use the word as a title or within the piece itself. This assignment is due Monday, July 7, 2014 at 6:00 pm EST. You can linkup your hooligans here:

Guess what?

The linkups are LIVE.

Dive right on in.

If you tweet about it, add the #MCprompt hashtag to your post and I’ll make sure it gets retweeted.

Ready? Set? Write!

You tempt me so! Finger itch, but the words are chaotically tumbling around my head, they won’t make sense.
