The stairway glowed, calling his name, but Brennan knew it was lying. His was not a destiny towards heaven. His very real existence belonged with his soul, forever trapped and tormented in hell. This is for the 55 Word Challenge. Three pictures were offered, I chose the one used above. This piece is based on my NaNo characters and the story premise, though I don’t know at this point if it will ever work its way in. I’m very behind on my word count, and decided that I’m okay if I don’t meet the deadline. The story is a promising one, and the words flow easily enough. It’s just time and life getting in my way.

As always, I welcome your feedback. Please share your thoughts in a comment.

Just a couple more weeks left and the America’s Next Author contest is over. I’m currently as of this publishing in the #12 slot. With your votes, and especially your REVIEWS, I can make it to #1. Thanks for all you have done to help me thus far.

Thanks for stopping in!
