Into the DarknessThey seek a legendary sword, but the secret it guards was never meant to be found.

The sell-sword Aeryn Ravane seeks out a legendary sword as a means to forge a new life’s path. Theo, a young thief, also seeks this sword, but as a desperate attempt to buy her brother’s life. Their quests lead them into a darkness they never could have imagined when they unwittingly break an ancient seal and a fallen god escapes his prison.

Reborn in a time that has long forgotten his dark reign, The Harbinger wastes no time in again making his mark on Cathell. A dead hero offers his help to the sell-sword and the thief, but his selfish motives and dark secrets threaten the success of their mission to stop the god’s twisted rise to power. A storm of evil and lies swirls around Aeryn and Theo, testing them at every turn. It becomes hard to know what–and whom–to trust. Can they both make it out alive, or will The Harbinger’s darkness swallow one of them forever?

Review:

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Add one epic heroine, a young thief, an undead adventurer, a magical sword, and a malevolent god together, and you’ll have the makings of an unforgettable read. A.M. Rycroft deftly spins a tale replete with adventure and fast-paced action! Her characters are finely developed, and you’ll find yourself engrossed in the twists and turns they encounter during this well-crafted, fantasy-laden story. Rycroft builds her plot with detailed backstories, while not saddling her characters with crippling obstacles for them to overcome- although they do face nearly insurmountable odds. Readers who invest the time to read this Homer-esque tale will find themselves cheering on the stoic, but caring Aeryn as she and her small band of unlikely heroes meet their destiny.
